The Benefits Of Using A Pocket Hole Jig
Use a Pocket Hole Jig any time you need to join two pieces of wood together and do not want a screw or nail showing. It is very simply a frame and guide. It holds a piece of wood in place while you drill through the guide holes. They guide the drill into the wood at an angle, creating a pocket the screws will fit into.
Place the second piece of wood where the screws come out of the first and tighten them down. The two pieces will be securely held without having the screws show on the outer side. It is a more secure joint than using wood and it is easier than trying to match up the holes for dowel rods.
A pocket hole jig can be used to join wood at any angle. It will even join pieces together to form a flat platform, leaving a smooth top.
